Cops ground their Pans

Merseyside police have grounded their entire fleet of Honda STX1300 Pan Europeans after an accident in which a PC died, according to the Liverpool Daily Post.

The bikes will remain off the road until an accident investigation is completed.

A Honda spokesman commented: “We have a very close relationship with the police and other emergency services.

“Owners of ST1300s have nothing to worry about – temporarily withdrawing machines from service, whether it be a car or a bike, following a serious accident, is standard police procedure.

“We are obviously assisting the Merseyside force in every way possible with the investigation of this tragic accident.”
