Bike lockers in car parks

The first secure bike lockers are being tested in Sheffield Council’s car parks. The first three lockers have been installed in the Fitzwilliam Street car park and three additional lockers are planned for another car park.

The lockers are available 24 hours a day and cost 60p per hour. Another advantage is that you can also leave your helmet, leathers and boots in them as well.

The lockers are secure, each user operates the locker by choosing their own four-digit password and the unit will stay locked until the code is punched in again.

There are more than 1,300 of these units in domestic use. The Fitzwilliam Street units are the first installation of a car park version in the UK.
