Don't miss the World Cup

The World Cup offers a great chance to get out on your bike on almost empty roads, but if you do want to stop and enjoy the beautiful game, you can stop off at Travelodge to catch the action.

The hotel chain is making rooms available for 120 minutes during the World Cup, for just £10, so you could go for a quick ride when everyone else is getting ready for the game, run into your pre-booked room, and dash back out onto your bike when everyone else is busy either celebrating, or drowning their sorrows.

And watch out for car drivers in a hurry to catch the match. A Travelodge poll of 1000 people showed 31 per cent would make a dash to get home, even if it meant speeding, road rage and other road hazards.

The hotel rooms can only be booked on match days and for England matches in the World Cup at motorway and roadside hotels in England, Scotland and Wales.
