Hammond back to MCN

1 of 1

Richard Hammond is hard at work writing his first weekly MCN column since the 300mph crash that nearly killed him and left him recovering from serious brain damage.

Hammond became front page news when he was almost killed filming for Top Gear and has spent the past seven weeks recovering from the head injuries he suffered.

Hammond is at home in Gloucestershire as he is still waiting to get clearance to get his driving and bike licence back since the accident. On Tuesday he sat behind the wheel for the first time after driving around his property.

He said: “I can’t wait to get back to work properly and writing for MCN again is something I have been looking forward to hugely. It’s been an incredibly strange time for me but I have been hugely amused, grateful and thankful for the support from bikers – they were the best messages I got.”

Hammond’s first column will return in the November 15 issue.
