Over £10,000 has been raised for local charities by the seventh annual ‘Hoggin the Bridge’ ride across the Severn Bridge.

The ride from Severn View services to Chepstow on the M48 attracted over 2000 riders. It’s organised by the Bridgwater Chapter of the Harley Owners group, but all riders and bikes are welcome. Each rider paid a fee to take part, the bulk of which went to charity.

In addition insurance firm eBike donated £1000 to the fun, which will go to charities including the Meningitis Trust, St Annes Hospice in Newport, Somerset Air Ambulance, Secret World Wildlife Hospital in Highbridge, the British Legion, and an orphanage in Kenya with links to Chepstow COmprehensive School.

“We had riders coming from all over the country for this annual charity event – and the response was great, despite a gloomy weather forecast,” said Bridgwater H.O.G. Chapter Director Dave Holden.
