Video: Black box could revolutionise bike testing

A new electronic device could change the way bike tests and CBTs are carried out in the future and solve problems caused by planned changes to the riding test.

Under the European Third Driving Licence Directive (3DLD), riders are set to undergo much more rigorous off-road testing, requiring test centres to have huge asphalted areas to carry out the test. This in turn means that from next year, many centres will no longer be able to carry out bike tests.

But now Australian safety experts have created an electronic system which can perform an objective assessment of your riding at much lower speeds and in a much smaller area.

Check out the video belwo to see the unit explained.
