MCN Brno run arrives home after 2100 miles on a Kawasaki Z1000

MCN Feature Editor Andy Downes has returned home after riding his Kawasaki Z1000 to the World Superbike round at Brno at the weekend. Here’s his final report after arriving home.

“Got back home at 7.30pm on Monday night after stopping on Sunday in Wurzburg, Germany at a lovely hotel just off the motorway that even had secure garages. We totally lucked out with that one but after a big night out in Brno on Saturday, all day at the track watching the racing and then riding about 370 miles we were both really tired.

“A steady ride back all day yesterday was great fun. Loads of unrestricted Germany autobahn to play on and amazingly dry roads all the way through until we got to Belgium when it started to hammer with rain.

“Despite waterproofs it was hard work but only got worse once we got to England – then it was even worse. Didn’t dare stop apart from fuel because taking gloves and helmet off was not a pleasant thought! Anyway, 2100-odd miles on the Kawasaki Z1000 in four and a bit days was great fun and a trip I will never forget.”

There will be a full report of the trip and loads of pictures in MCN in the near future.
