Gretna wedding on bikes

1 of 2

Who says it’s dodgy to date on the internet? I met my hubby through AOL dateline. Paid my money and sat and waited. I didn’t have a long list… just a hairy chested Scotsman with a bike. Having just had a messy break-up, I picked myself up and got me through my bike test and accqired my first bike, a CBR600F I called her TITANIA. Well, I am a girl and I DO believe in fairytales (sigh). Poor Kevin. He replied to an e-mail I sent him and we arranged to meet. Phwoar, I thought, come to mama! We dated, it was fab, he entered my mad world of biking rallies and the MCN madness of Skeggy… he’d been a biker longer than me but had never done rallies or the like before. We had great fun. Then we decided, wot the hell let’s get married!

So we did, at Gretna Green, on the bikes, me in a black gown and he in his kilt. Traditional runaways we were, didn’t tell anyone except my best friend, who has bravely battled breast cancer, and her partner also on bikes. We then rode to the farmyard to begin our honeymoon before setting of for Holland and the Assen MotoGP. It is truly a blessing when, at a later stage in life, you meet the person you truly want to share your life with and wake up every day knowing that you are loved and that you bring happiness to someone else. Thank goodness for my bike, the MCN weekends and the mind broadening internet. Whhoooo whooooo xx
