Alpine disaster averted

1 of 1

While on holiday in the French Alps I was caught out by a combination of a sharp left slippy overbanding repair and a bit of to much speed. I was left hanging from a bridge wall after a blow to the back of the head. By some miracle I had my eyes open as I cartwheeled over it and grabbed it before I fell into the stream that ran beneath it. So, a word of warning: in France a sharp turn sign is only given for hairpins. The photo is a reconstruction 2 days later and is a true representation of how I ended up. My injuries were a slight cut to my left leg, my r1 suffered £4500 of damage. I managed to ride it back from La Praz to Leeds a few days later.
