World's smallest speed gun on the way to Britain

1 of 1

Laser Atlanta has created possibly the most accurate and smallest speed gun to date.

  • Speed camera inaccuracy could get 100’s off speeding fines
  • Hidden speed cameras in Lincolnshire

The SpeedLaser B, which is the size of a pair of binoculars and can be held with one hand, is expected in the UK later this year. It has already been launched in the US, where it has received much praise.

The gun only needs 0.3 of a second to lock onto its target and it is claimed that it only needs a three inch target to lock on. This will make it easy to spot speeders in rush hour traffic.

Because the SpeedLaser B uses laser technology instead of radar technology, it can be used in fog, heavy rain and even snow. Also because it uses laser technology it is “jammer-proof”. Meaning illegal equipment which blocks traditional speed guns is rendered useless.

The gun, which costs £1,500 is accurate up to 2,133 metres.
