Steve Hislop enquiry moved to Edinburgh

The Scottish Court Service has moved the location of a fatal accident enquiry into the death of Steve Hislop from Jedburgh to Edinburgh, due to concerns the case could overwhelm the Jedburgh court.

The case was originally scheduled to take place in Jedburgh in December, but a preliminary hearing is now due to take place on April 8, with the main five-day enquiry set to kick off on April 28.

Reasons for Hislop’s fatal helicopter crash in the Borders region in 2003 have yet to be established. An Air Accident Investigation report in 2005 concluded the helicopters rotors had struck the tail-boom, but did not specify what caused that collision.
