Michael Schumacher gets on his motorcycle, again

Former Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher has competed in his third motorcycle race in the space of a week, taking fourth place in a round of the Italian KTM Superduke cup.

Schumacher recorded the second-fastest laptime during the 10-lap KTM Trophy race at Misano on the 990cc Superduke, eventually crossing the line 5.1 seconds adrift of the winner.

The racer is reported to have said he was too cautious in the early laps of the race, but enjoyed carving his way through the field.

The KTM race was Schumacher’s first truly competitive ride on a two-wheeler, with his previous two outings being largely against amateur opposition.

Despite his success against full-time racers, Schumacher says he views motorcycle racing purely as a hobby and has no plans to take it up full-time.
