Try the Arai RX7-GP at the TT

Arai is offering visitors to this year’s Isle of Man TT the chance to test ride the all-new RX-7 GP helmet around the famous mountain course.

The free ‘test rides’ will be available throughout the TT fortnight from the Arai Race Support Service team, situated behind the grandstand on the start/finish straight.

Riders will need to leave a small deposit, taken from a credit or debit card, along with some form of photographic identification which will be returned on safe receipt of the helmet.

Launched in December 2008 after a full season’s testing by Arai’s MotoGP and Grand Prix riders, the RX-7 GP replaces the Corsair as its range-topping helmet and is completely new from construction right through to the visor.

The structural net composite (SNC) shell with peripheral belting and enhanced hyper ridge strengthening in the lower section represents Arai’s most advance design to date.

Other benefits from the new construction include a larger opening to make the helmet more comfortable when putting it on and off and with the centre of gravity moved lower, the helmet sits more naturally to help reduce fatigue.

Amongst a wide array of improvements, a wider quick release visor has increased peripheral vision while the vent switches are now bigger, making them easier to operate wearing gloves.

Between the trademark twin diffusers is now a five-position air wing, designed to reduce drag, turbulence and buffeting.

John Wakefield, managing director for UK Arai importer Phoenix Distribution, commented, ‘The Isle of Man TT course is the most demanding road in the world with its wide range of speed, elevation and weather changes.

“All our racers trust Arai implicitly, but there’s no better place for the public to experience just how good an Arai is in such a variety of conditions.’

Riders who will definitely be trying out the new RX-7 GP around the TT course this year and gunning for glory will be Keith Amor, Bruce Anstey, Michael Dunlop, William Dunlop, Gary Johnson, Steve Plater and sidecar crews Nick Crowe and Mark Cox, Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance.

Priced at £529.99 to £589.99 in sizes XS-XXL, replica designs on the RX-7 GP include John Hopkins, Dani Pedrosa, Hiroshi Aoyama, Nicky Hayden and Shinya Nakano along with a whole host of striking graphics and single colours.
