Roger Constable

In the 25 May, 2011 edition of MCN we stated that Roger Constable, the owner of Midlands Superbikes, was bankrupt.  This is not accurate. Midlands Superbikes went into administration, but to our knowledge Roger Constable has never been declared bankrupt. MCN regrets any confusion caused by this inaccuracy.

The following is a letter from John Constable, Roger Constable’s brother.

“My late brother Roger Constable was the subject of an article in MCN last November following the seizure of his business, Midlands Superbikes, by a third party. Whilst going through his paperwork I came across a letter he had composed in response to the article, which he did not post. In the letter he made clear that he was in hospital at the time the administrators were called in by the third party (his landlord), and at that time there were sufficient funds in the bank to refund customers. He said there were never any findings of wrongdoing against him in relation to the CAT Motorcycles business in Kent (or subsequently Midlands Superbikes) and he also regretted what had happened with Midlands Superbikes, and did not benefit in any way from the company being put into administration. He was never declared bankrupt.”
