Bennetts make statement around modifications policy

Our online article posted 25th April, titled: Insurance Tips, Making Modifications to your Bike, gave incorrect details relating to Bennetts’ modifications policy. Bennetts have issued the following statement in clarification.

In order to meet the needs of even more UK bikers, Bennetts has updated its modifications policy which now permits more modifications as standard than any other bike insurance broker.  In addition, it will replace like-for-like in the event of a claim.

Having worked closely with its panel of insurers, Bennetts will now accept up to 16 modifications as standard including heated grips, tank pads and braided hoses.  The full list is available at www.Bennetts.co.uk/policy and if you have any modifications to your bike from this list, you do not need to notify Bennetts either at the beginning of the policy or if the bike is modified during the term.

If your modification(s) do not appear on this standard list then, via the Bennetts online quote journey, you are able to highlight a further three modifications from the non-standard list which is categorised for ease.  If there are more than three from the list then the company’s specialist contact centre can help.

What’s more, in the event of a claim, Bennetts will not only replace/repair your bike like-for-like, but also all of your standard and declared mods too…unlike many other brokers.

Hannah Squirrell, Bennetts Marketing Director, said, “Our policy is designed to cover the 16 most common bike modifications as standard, plus the ability to add a further 3 via our online quote journey.  If there is any doubt whatsoever about their cover then its best they give us a call.

Our aim is for a simple and transparent policy that ensures the correct cover for our customers so they are fully paid out in the unfortunate event of a claim and that their pride and joy is replaced or restored like-for-like.”
