Picture story: When Ducati built Triumphs

1 of 3

Not a lot of people know that Ducati once built Triumph cars. In the early sixties then managing director Giuseppe Montano signed a deal with British Leyland to build, adapt and market Triumph Spitfire and TR4 models for the Italian market.

No one knows exactly how many the firm built but you can identify them by the cursive logo reading Ducati Meccanica, above the Triumph emblem. They are today, as you’d expect, very rare and expensive.
