Bike of the Day: 1999 Yamaha R6

The first R6 was as much of a ‘game-changer’ as its bigger brother, the original R1, was in 1998. Light, small and fast, this was the first true supersports 600 and, as such, both a sure-fire future classic and also a machine that’s still fun and useful today.

Trouble is, most have been caned to within an inch of their lives – but not this one. It’s original bar screen and can, showing just 14K miles and, best of all, tempting at £1500.
