KTM issue 1290 Super Duke R recall

1 of 1

KTM have issued a global recall of selected 1290 Super Duke R models from the 2014 model year, affecting around 248 models in the UK.

The firm states that “Due to deviations in manufacturing processes, an internal overflow pipe within the motorcycle’s fuel tank may not be completely enclosed within its plastic sheath and could result in fuel penetrating a threaded insert which could lead to fuel leaking in small quantities.”

The owners of the 248 afected UK bikes will been contacted in writing imminently, advising them to book their bike in with their local KTM dealer to have the remedial work carried out, obviously at no cost to the owner. If you’re concerned that your Super Duke R is in the batch affected, contact your local dealer and give them your bike’s chassis number, and your dealer will be able to confirm whether your bike is part of the affected batch.
