Mad new event at MCN bash

You’ve heard of the Paris Dakar or the Baja 1000, and maybe even witnessed Le Touquet or the epic Weston beach race, but on April 18-19 this year the Lincolnshire coast will have its very own beach marathon and you can be part of the action.

Hosted at MCN Live! ‘Skegmess’ will see 125cc machines do battle on the Skegness sand. A whopping purse of £1000 is up for grabs (plus a priceless plastic trophy) for the victors in this new event held on the beach directly behind the Butlins venue.

Each entry must include a team of at least three riders (aged 18+) and a
motorcycle of 125cc or below.

To add to the madness, competition machines (including enduro bikes) are banned and the motorcycle must have been registered for road use at some point. Modifications will be allowed but every machine will be scrutineered to ensure MCN Skegmess is both safe and fair.

Extra points will be awarded for riders in fancy dress.

A full list of the regulations and an entry form can be obtained by emailing ped.baker@motorcyclenews.com.

Entries are strictly limited to 30 teams and close on April 3 with priorty given to people who have booked accommodation at MCN Live!
