Video: Yamaha R1 World Superbike

Yamaha are returning to the World Superbike paddock in 2016 with Alex Lowes and Sylvain Guintoli at the helm of the mighty YZF-R1. In line with this, Yamaha have released a dramatic new video showing the prototype bike being thrashed around the Circuit d’Alcarras in Spain in the hands of experienced Yamaha test Riders, Jeffry De Vries and Raymond Schouten back in March this year.

Chief Operating Officer of Yamaha Motor Europe, Eric De Seynes recently commented on how the new R1 has “re-written the Supersport rule book and changed the game”. Following extensive and successful development throughout this year in domestic racing and, of course, their impressive victory at the Suzuka 8 hour endurance race at the hands of our own Bradley Smith, it should make for an exciting World Superbike championship next year.
