Lover of classic motors? Then Pistons and Props is for you

A combination of historic karts, hot rods and classic racers will line-up at the Footman James Sywell Classic event, Pistons and Props, at Sywell Aerodrome on September 24 and 25.

It’s a must see ‘do for anyone who loves classic motors all-round, you can even spot some in-air fun with two supermarine Spitfires and incredible, high octane twists and turns from an aerobatic display team. 

Back to our beloved bikes, among the classic stunners will be a 1974 Yamaha TZ 700cc, raced in period by American Gene Romero, which won the Daytona 200 in the USA in 1975. This piece of metal will in fact be ridden at the event by former TT competitor Paul Cott. 

During the jam-packed weekend of classic-ness, you will be able to feast your eyes on ex Moto GP rider Laurent Naveau’s 1996 ROC Yamaha YZR 500cc.

Included in the mix bike enthusiasts can revel over a wide range of Hondas; A 1976 works CB500, a 1985 RS250 and a 1986 RS500.

If that wasn’t exciting enough Freddie Spencer’s 1991 RC30, an original Two Brothers Racing team bike, and the Rothmans 1993 RS250 raced by Luca Cadalora will also be present at the event. 

Live music, superb displays of Barry Sheene Suzuki bikes, the Suzuki XR69 F1 Replica that Michael Dunlop rode to victory in last year’s Classic Isle of Man TT…the list goes on and on and on!
