Custom bike builder Roland Sands has teamed up with Ducati for his own take on the award-winning XDiavel – the result of which was unveiled at the 76th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Sands' XDiavel looks much more like a traditional cruiser than the futuristic original, swapping out the standard 17in front wheel for a larger 19-incher. And the bodywork is one piece, creating a clean, classic look.
No engine modifications are mentioned, although a Roland Sands Design exhausthas been added. The XDiavel hardly needs any tuning, pumping out 153bhp at 5000rpm and 72ftlb of torque at just 2000rpm.
"The XDiavel is a beast. A wolf in wolves’ clothing and a serious piece of speed equipment,” said Sands.
“We really wanted to pivot off all that amazing technology and not mess it up by tearing it out. So the bike is still very stock from a functional standpoint. The bike was a three month build, with careful consideration and deliberation about the direction of the design. Ultimately, we decided to twist the aesthetic while retaining decidedly 'stock' bike functionality. I’m proud to say that’s exactly what we've achieved.”
If you like Sands' XDiavel, there is a range of Roland Sands Design accessories in the Ducati Performance catalogue and available at Ducati dealers.
