KTM recalls Adventure models

KTM have issued a recall for three adventure models due a problem with the ABS modulator wiring harness.

Following an investigation, KTM has issued a recall on three Adventure models due a problem with the braking system. In some circumstances, it is possible for the wiring harness to fray and come into contact with the ABS modulator, which then goes to ground. If this happens, it’s possible for the brake line to also become electrically conductive, which can lead to the brake line overheating and melting causing a failure of the braking system.

Owners of affected motorcycles are being contacted and asked to return their bike to a dealer immediately for repair. The following models are affected:

KTM 1190 Adventure up to and including MY2016

KTM 1190 Adventure R up to and including MY2016

KTM 1290 Super Adventure up to and including MY2016
