Video: Go Far. Go High. Go Home

BBC Presenter Andy Torbet has always had a thirst for adventure, whether it be exploring deep underwater cave systems or climbing icebergs. Looking for a new adventure Andy’s climbing partner suggested climbing Triglav, the tallest mountain in Slovenia and the tallest peak in the Julian Alps.

As a motorcyclist Andy was keen to make it an even bigger adventure by riding there. The seed had been planted, and the pair rode to Slovenia on a pair of Suzuki V-Strom 650XTs.

Andy said of the adventure, “I love getting out into the mountains and love the exploratory nature of it and the wild environment that you can find yourself in. I suggested riding to Triglav too. The bikes were great and brilliantly equipped for the job.

“They were comfortable, which made it easy to do the mileage, and we could fit everything we needed for a climbing expedition in the luggage. We did 14 hours in the saddle one day, without complaint. They performed admirably on and off-road, and even held their own around a race track after we visited the Nürburgring!”

The pair couldn’t have such an adventure without filming it, and now Suzuki UK have produced this video detailing the journey, including a lap of the Nurburgring, and, unfortunately, one crash.
