Over 18,000 motorcyclists rolled into the Peterborough Arena at the weekend for the second MCN Festival.

WSB champ and Grand Prix superstar Colin Edwards led the USA team into battle against Chris Walker’s UK team in the dirt track Transatlantic Trophy races, the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling supplied some stunning Classic and modern race bikes for the parade laps, plus stunt riders Steve Colley and Dave Coates wowed the crowds with their sensational shows.

In the Transatlantic Trophy races the USA team were emphatically beaten, the UK team winning every race across the two days. Alongside the Trophy races the Maxxis arena also saw a full programme of DTRA races and an all-new Hooligan class race featuring 750cc-plus bikes on road tyres. The first Hooligan race of the day was won by Geoff Cain on a completely stock Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro with OE tyres!

Away from the action there were scores of trade and club stands and a new autojumble. Best club stand award was presented to the Ducati Owners club, the vintage motor scooter club received a highly commended. Best club bike was awarded to Richard Neeves and his pristine 26,000-mile, air-cooled RD250 he’s owned from new.
