Hollywood actor Tom Hardy has passed his category A motorcycle test, and can now take to the roads on any motorcycle he chooses.

The Dark Knight Rises and Legend actor was spotted preparing for his test last week, as he filled up at a petrol station while out on a training ride with instructor Tim Smith from Two Wheels Motorcycle School in Nuneaton.

Now the actor, who was born in Hammersmith, can ride without supervision after passing both modules one and two of his Direct Access course.

His trainer Tim said he “found him to be a really lovely guy, genuine, polite and we were really happy to have helped him with some motorcycle training.”

It’s not the first time the actor has been seen on a bike though, he’s been previously photographed riding around the streets donning a set of L-plates on a customised 125 but this is the first time he’s been seen to actively be seeking his full licence.

Hardy recently received media attention after chasing down a suspected bike thief who had crashed and tried to escape before being caught by the star and handed over to the police.

Tom has most recently been seen on screen in the BBC drama Taboo and the latest series of the Peaky Blinders. He also has a starring role in the upcoming Dunkirk movie.
