Barry Sheene RGB500 going for £120,000 on eBay

A rare opportunity has come up to own the Heron Suzuki RGB500 that was raced by Barry Sheene in the 1983 Grand Prix season.

The bike is currently for sale on eBay, for a trifle amount of £120,000. But for that you do get a machine that was raced by both Sheene in ’83 and later by Mick Grant for Heron in 1984.

It runs a right-foot gear shift that was used by both Sheene and Grant, and comes with bodywork sets to suit each rider.

The original 16-inch wheels and two-piston calipers were replaced with 17-inch wheels and four-pot brakes, though the originals are included in the sale.

The bikes history has been well documented recording that the Sheene machine went unused between 1990 and 2005 before being bought by a close friend of the former world champion who then had the bike restored before letting Mick Grant ride it at a few parade events.

The bike failed to sell on the bidding site last year, where it was listed for £150,000 and this time around has been advertised for £30k less. That makes it a bargain now, right?

So if you fancy it then visit the eBay page here!
