Thieves target motorcycle dealers

Published: 10 May 2017

Thieves have targeted four separate motorcycle dealerships in recent weeks, including Ducati Manchester and Balderstons BMW in Peterborough.

Five thieves struck at Ducati Manchester in the early hours of Easter Monday, smashing through the glass front door of the building. It took the gang just 17 seconds to steal two brand new Ducati SuperSports and some Ducati clothing, despite the fact the bikes were changed together and the store's fog system was activated.

The two SuperSport models stolen were taken without the keys, one was unregistered with a VIN number ending 000663. The second bike was a red SuperSport S with the registration number MK17 ZKH and a VIN number ending 000752.

Just three days earlier, thieves broke into Peterborough dealership Balderstons BMW at 3am, making away with two BMW S1000RRs.

Contact Crimestoppers (0800 555111) or the police (101) with any information.
