1% trailer: A biker gang drama from Australia

It’s been three years since the last episode of American biker gang series Sons of Anarchy, so it’s about time we had some more bike gang drama hit our screens. Enter, 1%.

1% is an Australian film that is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Stephen McCallum, the director of the film, told Deadline, “1% is about brotherhood, loyalty, and betrayal set within the primal underworld of outlaw motorcycle gangs This clip gives you an insight into the visceral world of those outlaws who in medieval times would’ve been Kings and Queens.

“This forbidden world was a really exciting canvas for a director. Matt Nable’s script was a hard hitting, character driven genre piece with strong Shakespearean themes. It jumped off the page and I knew immediately that I wanted to direct it.  I’m very excited to show the world this first exclusive snippet, and to premiere the full film in Toronto next week.”

Yeah, we know, the biker gang cliché thing has been done to death over the years, but it’s always good to see bikes on the big screen, and judging by the trailer (above), there looks to be plenty of bikes involved.

No release dates have yet been announced for the film. However the film will also feature at the London Film Festival and Adelaide Film Festival on the 5 and 11 October respectively.
