Video: Nick Sanders is on his way to Mongolia

Adventure rider Nick Sanders has set off on another trip, this time heading for Mongolia from his hometown of Machynlleth, Wales and he’s inviting you to guess where he is from his video blogs along the way.

Viewers of his Facebook videos are invited to send in their answers, with the first three correct answers winning a book or DVD.

TOP STORIES

In the first video (above), Nick explains his most recent trip: “I’m going away again. I don’t really know why. Well, I sort of know why I’m going away again – it’s what I do.” Nick’s videos won’t just focus on himself, and he’ll be interviewing interesting people he meets along the way. He’s already released videos with Elspeth beard and Bryn Davies of Adventure Bike Rider.

Of course, Nick is no stranger to long rides, in 2005 he beat his own round-the-world record – covering 20,000 miles in 20 days on a Yamaha R1 in 2005. The record includes riding days only – not ferries and plane travel between ridden legs. He set the first record in 1997, covering 19,930 miles in 31 days and 20 hours.

In 2011 Nick rode from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego and back in under 50 days onboard something a bit more suitable – a Yamaha Super Tenere.

We’ll be keeping you up-to-date with Nick’s progress right here, or you can follow Nick on Facebook if you want the chance to win a book or DVD.
