Historic racers do ‘battle’ on the streets of Brackley

If you thought Brackley Festival of Motorcycling was just about the exhilarating spectacle of classic race bikes parading in the medieval town’s High Street, you would be very much mistaken. It is so much more!

For this year’s festival, on Sunday, August 12, three massive sports fields will be crammed full with a stunning range of displays, attractions and entertainment.

Headline sponsors, North Oxford and Wollaston BMW will take centre stage in the Manufacturer’s Court, displaying the latest machinery and merchandise.

They will be joined by motorcycle dealerships Hughenden M40, Suzuki’s Kings Two Wheel Centre, Harley-Davidson Oxford, Dave Wood Racing, MAC Motorcycles, plus Yamaha and Kawasaki will also be offering test rides.

The National Motorcycle Museum will have a special exhibition of the best of British classic bikes to compliment unique bikes parading in the arena.

The Off Road Arena and Paddock feature classic scrambler and trials bikes live in their natural environment parading around a challenging course.

And much like at the MCN Festival, the Performance Arena highlights Steve Colley’s trials’ skills and Matt Bates’ Arenacross team’s breathtaking stunts.

Motorcycle owners clubs

BFoM are delighted to have so many owners clubs joining them for 2018, and have once again partnered with the Ace Cafe London, who celebrate their 80th anniversary this year. The section known as the ‘Ace Corner’ will also have a café racer competition.

There’s a chance to have a coffee with James and Dean Ellison, who will be signing autographs and riding in the High Street arena on CRT and PBM MotoGP bikes on the day.

Entertainment includes the Ken Fox Wall of Death, a fairground, and ‘Have a Go’ rides on either electric or petrol-fuelled bikes.

The varied stands in the massive Trade Court offer the chance to ramble, rummage and purchase those little extras to adorn yourself or your bike. Or just enjoy the wide selection of food and refreshments in the Food Court whilst listening to the live entertainment.

This celebration of motorcycling is a fantastic day out and is sure to make a highlight of your summer. For more information visit the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling website
