Trials star and dealership raise thousands for charity

An evening with Dougie Lampkin MBE at Colin Appleyard Motorcycles has helped to raise much needed funds for a local charity. The event saw over 180 customers descend on the dealership to hear twelve-time World Champion Dougie talk about events throughout his long career, alongside numerous other racers and riders as well as his cousin John Lampkin, importer of Beta motorcycles.

Money was raised throughout the evening through donations from generous attendees, while ten lucky guests all put their hands up to donate £150 each for a day of learning trials riding with Dougie himself. Colin Appleyard will supply the bikes to the riders for the day who will be taught basic trials skills as well as how to navigate rivers, hills and bogs.

“We’re proud to continue supporting the important work of the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, with time generously given by Dougie, who is a local hero to many of our customers,” said Robin Appleyard, company owner. “We’re all looking forward to taking part in the day of learning trials with Doug, it should be very eventful!”
