The popular Renntec and Metal Mule motorcycle accessory labels are to merge following the two brands’ takeover by British biking brothers Alan and Geoff Giles.

Geoff, an experienced customiser and fabricator formerly behind ET Custom Motorcycles in Hong Kong, and Alan, with over a decade’s experience in retail, marketing and social media, said they decided to team up when the opportunity to buy the two businesses arose in March.

Now, with Alan already describing business as “good” coming out of lockdown, the Dorset-based pair are making plans to boost the order book for their British-made metal racks, adventure luggage and accessories with their first move being to merge the brands under the Renntec banner.

Alan told MCN: “Renntec has been around a long time and is the stronger brand so we want to strengthen Metal Mule by rebranding it as Renntec.”

But he promises little else will change. “Both have a great, loyal, customer base. We’re flying the flag. It’s all made in-house, everything we do is British. We want to keep that and strengthen our UK customer base – we’re definitely here for the long haul.”
