If you ever fancied a true replica of a BSB championship-winning machine – now’s your chance!

A special run of 10 replicas of Tarran ‘Taz’ Mackenzie’s 2021 BSB-winning Yamaha R1 are to be built, each commemorating different race wins during the season and all featuring not just McAMS team replica paint but also top-spec Brembo brakes, Öhlins suspension, Akrapovic race exhaust and more.

And, despite a price tag of nearly £30,000 each they’re already selling like hot cakes, with five of the 10 planned bikes already snapped up!

The machines are being built to order by official Yamaha GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) Pro Shop, Raceways Motorcycles in Fleetwood, Lancashire.

All are road legal but bristling with high-spec racing components and each is unique with a customised top yoke detailing which victory the bike represents – from Mackenzie’s first victory of the season at Brands Hatch to his last at the final round.

So, for example, bike No.7 will feature the special, 25th anniversary silver McAMS racing livery seen at Donington while machine No.10, which is already sold, will bear the golden No.1 race plate, as the race original did when Taz crossed the line to win his 10th race at Brands.

But it’s the bikes BSB-standard specifications which really make them stand out. Although based on a standard R1M, each is slathered with race-spec components and details from the McAMS team’s suppliers.

This includes: replica paint by Spray Bay; Brembo HPK GP4RX calipers, RCS19 forged master cylinder and HPK T-Drive discs; Öhlins FGRT 200 forks, TTX36GP rear shock and steering damper; full Akrapovic race exhaust system with Titanium can; GYTR under-slung caliper kit; HEL Performance H brake lines; RK chain with custom Gandini sprockets; Evotech Performance oil and radiator guards, tail tidy, carbon stand hooks and brake protector; GB Racing engine covers; Gee-Tech rear stand with race/bike number; MWR Race air filter; captive wheel spacers; custom Spider rearsets and Eazi-Grip tank grips.

As we went to press, five of the 10 ultra-exotic machines had already been sold, so if you fancy one you’d better move fast.

And if the McAMS, BSB-winning replica isn’t extreme enough for you – how about a £50,000 MotoGP-repica Petronas R1 instead?

Raceways, who are building the Taz replicas, also currently have for sale this ultra-rare, officially sanctioned Petronas R1 replica, one of just 46 built last year by the Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) which went even further with M1 inspired carbon fibre bodywork, Marchesini forged wheels, uprated ECU and more.
