Overland Event chooses Air Ambulance as 2023 charity

This year’s Overland Event at Hill End activity centre near Oxford is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for Air Ambulances UK, having raised more than £3000 for African motorcycle charity Pikilily in 2022.

Taking place between Thursday, August 31 and Sunday, September 3, the organisers of the travel-focused event have been choosing a different bike-related charity to support each year since they began in 2015.

Last year’s recipients work mainly in Tanzania teaching women how to ride and maintain motorbikes safely, to help them generate an income.

Featured at this year’s event will be a series of guest speakers including Ted Simon and Heather Sinclair, workshops on tyres, photography, first aid, crating a bike, travel writing, roadside cookery and more and a MotoSkills course plus live music, a bike show, exhibitors and more.
