Rossi officially became a brand ambassador for Yamaha in May 2023, having spent a combined 16 seasons racing for the manufacturer at the highest level. He was also gifted a special GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) version of the R1 at the Eicma trade show in Milan in 2021.

“After I retired from MotoGP, I’ve kept training and riding motorcycles,” he said during the ambassador announcement last year. “During my MotoGP career I rode Yamaha bikes as part of my contract. But even after retiring, I kept using Yamaha bikes because I enjoy it.”

Rossi will be joined at the YRE by a number of other special guests, including the official Pata Prometeon Yamaha World Superbike squad, whose riders consist of six-time WSBK champion Jonathan Rea, and former World Supersport champion Andrea Locatelli.
