What could be better than a ride out in the stunning surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales? Doing it for charity of course!

The Yorkshire Ride ‘Owt is back this Thursday, 16 May, with the day of festivities starting, and ending at Ripon’s luxury five-star venue – Grantley Hall.

Last year’s event raised an impressive £7000, and hopes are to exceed that for 2024. Tickets are available at £75 per person, with funds raised in support of the Yorkshire Children’s Charity, a group dedicated to helping thousands of impoverished children living across the county.

“Events such as these are the perfect way for guests to have a day full of amazing food and good company, while raising significant money for a great cause,” CEO Charlotte Farrington said. “We were able to raise an incredible amount for Yorkshire children in desperate need last year and we’re hoping to raise even more this year.”

A spokesperson further confirmed that the money raised will be use to support the ‘Schools Out’ programme, which supports children facing challenges such as poverty, violence, abuse, chronic pain and more.

Attendees are invited to come along from 11:00 to enjoy the tea and coffee refreshments on offer, before hitting the road for a mass ride out at 12:30. The fully led tour will then head northeast towards the coast, finishing up in Sandsend, Whitby, where riders can enjoy a pitstop for lunch.

With attendees freshly fuelled up, the ride will loop back around, taking in miles more scenic riding, before rolling back into Grantley Hall in time for a showcase of the latest models from the likes of Ducati, Triumph, Kawasaki, and BSA

To wrap up the day, a gourmet barbeque spread will be held on the lawn, whilst Isle of Man TT legend and MCN columnist John McGuinness regales attendees with stories from his racing career.
