The new-for-2008 R1 Cup is set to be an exciting addition to the support races for the British Superbike Championship next year.

The one-make championship will see all 36 Yamaha R1s on the grid painted in the same traditional Yamaha white and red racing livery; be slick-shod, geared-down, with racing suspension and have full Akrapovic exhaust systems.

Check out these exclusive photographs as MCN’s Senior Road Tester, Michael Neeves took one of the Yamaha R1s out for a test at Mallory Park to see what the competitors will be facing next season.
