Ducati Desmosedici RR first ride hit by hurricane

The world first test of the Ducati Desmosedici RR has been hit by a hurricance and torrential rain at the Misano circuit in Italy.

MCN Road Tester Michael Neeves is at Misano was all ready to get on the Ducati Desmosedici RR, when Ducati bosses decided to cancel the event.

“It’s so disapointing. Everything is set up and ready to go, with two Ducati Desmosedici RRs and instead it’s like the Friday of the MotoGP round. The weather is just torrential, and they’ve even had to park all the juggernauts around the hospitality unit to stop it blowing away.

“All the big names are here, including Randy Mamola, Casey Stoner and Loris Capirossi, and we’ve got all the support, mechanics and a race track to ourselves. But with the weather so bad we just can’t do anything.”

We’ll bring you all the latest about when the launch has been rescheduled to as and when we know.
