First ride: Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide

1 of 3

The half-faired Street Glide tourer gets an upgrade treatment including higher spec strereo, enough chromed goodies to keep plating and polishing companies in work for a millennium or more.

The 110cu-in (1802cc) lump should see you arriving at your destination a lot earlier than any sat-nav will tell you. All CVO bikes are of a limited production (3500 worldwide for the CVO Street Glide) first come, first served basis.

While the CVO Street Glide is undoubtedly a stunner, resplendent in every accessory you could possibly want/afford, the best part of the build is the use the 110cu-in (1802cc) engine conversion.

Quite simply this engine is brilliant; briilliant from being a torque monster where as soon as the throttle is turned the whole weighty mass propels forward with the ease of running stream water. Loaded or unloaded, the bike is so easy to ride.

Roll the throttle off and then on again makes short work of corners and shifting down a gear or two only needs to be done when speed drops to near walking pace. Because there is so much torque the motor gives a relaxed feel all the way to an indicated 90mph. More speed is available, but what’s the point.

Add to this the fuss-free proven belt drive and the 110-powered CVO Harleys make for super smooth, super cool machines
