New Bimotas tested

1 of 4

To celebrate the announcement of a new UK importer, Bimota brought along the DB5S, DB6, DB7 and Tesi 3D to Brands Hatch for us to ride, to refresh British riders’ memories of the exotica they hand-build.

Here are our verdicts in brief – for full details, see next week’s MCN out on Wednesday June 2.

DB6 – £16,605
Easily one of the best ‘super nakeds’ in the business and massive fun on the road thanks to its smooth and punchy Ducati air-cooled twin spark 1100DS motor.
DB5S – £16,957
Making just 90bhp from its 1100DS engine, the DB5S is more suited to fast road riding than track work. Dialled-in it’s sweet handling and loves fast sweeping A roads.
DB7 – £22,876
One of the most exotic trackday bikes you could ever hope to own, although once you add a potential £1000 delivery charge, the 1098-engined DB7 is far from cheap.
Tesi 3D – £24,517
A work of art and a lesson in attention to detail, the Tesi 3D isn’t as strange to ride as it looks. Its 1100DS motor is too underpowered to keep up with most trackday traffic on the straights, but you can easily make it up the corners.
