2011 Kawasaki Z1000SX first ride: "The bike still has a fun factor"

1 of 1

MCN Road Tester, Adam Child has just had his first ride of Kawasaki’s new 2011 Z1000SX at it’s world launch in Spain, here’s what he has to say:

“Kawasaki’s new sports tourer is based loosely on the naked Z1000 and uses exactly the same engine so the performance is the same. However, the additional fairing offers much better wind protection and a wider seat increases comfort for both rider and pillion. Rubber mountings reduce vibes and the handlebars are slightly higher for better comfort.

“After riding in mixed conditions initial impressions are really good. The top fairing feels quality and looks good – you can tell it’s not just been bolted on. The adjustable sreen gives a good level of protection at fast cruising speeds, yet the bike still has a fun factor with the 130bhp motor.”
