Insure your dream bike: Triumph Street Triple

Published: 20 January 2011

Each week, we'll take a look at one of your top rated bikes in MCN's Biking Britain survey and let you know just what it would cost to insure them. This week, we use MCNcompare to find out what it costs to insure a Street Triple...

Triumph Street Triple (07-on)
Overall rating: 94%
Insurance group: 14

MCN opinion:
With the looks of the (pre-2011) Speed Triple, the engine of the Daytona 675 sports bike and the usability of a CB500, this middleweight naked suits new and seasoned riders alike.

RED - High insurance risk
A 25-year-old student living in rented accommodation in central London who’s been riding for less than two years. He covers 8000 miles each year, is yet to build up any no claims bonus, and already has a speeding conviction.
AMBER - Average insurance risk
35 years old, living in suburbia, covering 10,000 miles a year on a bike, this rider has built up three years’ no claims bonus, is an accountant, yet doesn’t own his house and keeps his bike on the driveway.
GREEN - Low insurance risk
This rider is 50, lives in a rural area, has no additional riders on his policy, and an annual mileage of 2000. With five year’s NCB, his own house and an Institute of Advanced Motorists test pass under his belt (as well as a garage), he’s a very attractive proposition.
