Staff Blog: Mud flinging

1 of 4

Senior Editor Richard Newland’s BMW R1200GS isn’t the only longtermer with a mud-flinging problem, the Judge has one too.

On damp, wet or just plain dirty roads the front wheel throws up a lot of dirt, with quite a fair amount of it landing on my shins, but most of it caking itself all over the bike.

These photos were taken after popping out on damp B-roads one afternoon to take some photos for the paper. A short ride that covered less than 20 miles. I assure you the pictures weren’t taken after an enduro race.

The matt black of the engine and exhausts really helps the muck to stand out, too. I suppose I best pop down to the jet wash…
