MCN is at the world launch of the second-generation Ducati Diavel in the south of France today.
Senior Road Tester Michael Neeves will be riding the revised sports cruiser, which features Ducati’s new 1198cc Dual Spark Testastretta 11° V-twin engine, first seen in the updated Multistrada last year. Ducati says it’s smoother and gruntier than before, making the same 162bhp, but at 250rpm lower in the revs. It also has 93ftlb of torque, 2ftlb more than before.
The Diavel also has a new LED headlamp assembly, a comfier seat and minor cosmetic upgrades.
There are two versions available and both are £300 more than the outgoing versions: the £13,995 Diavel Dark and the high-spec £16,995 Diavel Carbon.
