Big Read: Norton's 125 years and counting

Few brands stir the emotions quite like Norton. The firm dominated the Isle of Man TT right from the early days, led
innovation with the Featherbed frame and rotary engines and ruled the world with the Dominator and Commando.

But every good story needs its ups and downs, and the name – which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year – is no stranger to controversy.

The passion that Norton generates is still as strong as ever – a fact proved by the turnout at London’s Ace Cafe as members of the Norton Owners Club gathered to celebrate a century and a quarter of British motorcycling heritage.

Despite the threat of September drizzle, the Ace was alive with people and bikes for the meet.

Some were a bit sluggish from the 125th anniversary event the night before, but with all 29 UK branches of the club invited to gather in the capital, everyone was buzzing…
