Inside story: Step inside the dream factory at Thornton Hundred

If you saw the workmanship of the be-winged, carbonclad, stretched-out and supercharged Triumph Speed Triple RR on the MCN Dream Garage stand at last November’s Motorcycle Live, you might be surprised to learn that the company that created it is still in its infancy.

Incorporated in 2016, Thornton Hundred are Britain’s youngest and most exciting custom house, known primarily for breath-taking Triumph Bobber commissions, twisted hand-built exhaust manifolds, and celebrity clientele.

Founded and directed by 27-year-old Jody Millhouse, the Buckingham-based engineering firm are an exciting shot-in-thearm for the British motorcycle industry, and their rapid rise from a humble shipping container to three workshops in as many continents is nothing short of Cinderella stuff.

“We grew up around motorcycles,” frontman Jody recalls to MCN.

“My mum’s side of the family all rode bikes, even my nan. And my dad, too. Naturally, I developed a love for engineering just because we were constantly surrounded by bikes.”
