Would you give the Dog a home?

Yamaha’s BT1100 Bulldog doesn’t fit comfortably into any of the pigeonholes we are used to. It’s a cross between a Ducati Monster and a Buell. Yamaha believes there’s big demand for such a hybrid. But what do you think?

We invited three riders to test the first to arrive in Britain.

Gavin Smith, 49, is a sales support manager from Bedfordshire who owns a 1998 Honda Blackbird. Our sports tourer rider came back to biking four years ago after a lay-off and reckons his riding style is careful. His dream bike is a Harley V-Rod.

Our superbike rider is 41-year-old commercial director Andy Brown, from Bucks. He’s been riding for almost 20 years and loves track days on his Suzuki GSX-R1000. If he won the Lottery he’d buy an MV Agusta F4.

And Jennifer Smith, from Worcs, is our cruiser rider. The 29-year-old sales manager has been riding for nine years, and saves her Harley-Davidson FLSTC for weekends, while commuting on a scooter. Jennifer says her Harley is her dream bike.

Follow the links, right, to see what they think, and join in the debate yourself by following the final link, which will take you to our Talk Bikes bulletin boards.
