CBR600 will get Suzuka RCV lights

Honda’s RCV-inspired CBR600, revealed exclusively in MCN, will debut the firm’s new high-tech headlight design – as seen on the RCV GP bike that Mick Doohan showed off at Suzuka last week.

The lights looked ready to go into production when they appeared on the RCV. They will certainly help to make the radically-restyled CBR, first shown in MCN on July 31, stand out from the crop of other new 600s due for 2003.

Those include the R6 revealed in last week’s MCN, the ZX-6R spied exclusively last month and an updated Suzuki GSX-R600.

The computer-generated image, right, is believed to be very close to the final appearance of the new CBR, which will be far more of a dedicated sports bike than its predecessors.

A second version of the bike will be softer in both its set-up and style, aimed at riders who appreciate the current CBR’s user-friendly appeal. Both will be unveiled next month at the Intermot Show in Munich.
