Honda's super cruiser

1 of 1

Honda could be preparing to launch another mad super cruiser – following in the tradition of the US-built Goldwing-powered Rune.

The new power cruiser shown here uses a VTX1800 twin cylinder engine and comes complete with F1 car-style pull-rod front suspension and a rear wheel made of individually-machined left and right halves, bolted together. The rear tyre is a 240-section Metzeler.

The prototype has been designed by Honda America and will be shown at shows throughout the States this year to gauge public reaction. If it gets the right support it could go into production just like the Rune did.

You can read more about the VTX-based bike in the MCN issue of June 23, 2004.
